| Customer Reviews: Barrons AP English February 1, 2010 Klic (Patchogue, NY) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a book that my son needed for school. The only problem I had was it took a long time to receive. I had to go out and try to purchase one for him before it arrived of course locally I couldn't get one because all the kids needed them and there wasn't any to buy.
Among the best available October 9, 2008 B. Weinstein (La Crescenta, CA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I am a parent with a high school junior taking the AP English Lang class...I do have a background in Rhetoric, just so you know where I'm coming from. This product is among the best. It has a "fair" amount of review material (some similar products have none) that can be used to supplement what is done in the classroom, and has an excellent selection of "test" material (literature from which the multiple choice questions come, and excellent essay sections as well). The problem with all of these AP Language review texts is that they all cover different concepts. It's good to use Barron's along with "5 Easy Steps to a 5" (or something like that) and/or Kaplan's. If I could only select one, I'd go with Barron's.

I took the AP last week and think that I did well. This book is not the greatest content wise, but I feel that the practice exams are unmatched and the sample essay prompts really helped me know what to expect and how to form a decent essay.
