Awesome Timing April 29, 2010 Samd7RNFNP 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book arrived in great condition, but the best part is that it arrived within 2 working days of my order when it was projected for 4 weeks. I really appreciate that! It arrived in time for me to use it to study for my exam. Thank you so much.
The BEST Review tool! August 27, 2009 D. Bharadwa (Fort Lauderdale, FL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought 6 different review books. I rate this one as the BEST just because of the CD with the practice tests, these practice tests where very close to what the real test was like. I just took the AANP exam today and passed! This book is a MUST have. I found some of the questions from this book on the actual test. Excellent resource.
Dated material June 15, 2009 Frances L. West (Tucson, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The format is user-friendly. I, too, found mistakes and rationales that at times contradicted the right answer! I am not sure if this is sloppy editing, or what, but it is not desirable in board review materials. My chief complaint is that much of the material seems dated. When exactly was this 2nd edition published? In the state (AZ) where I'll be practicing, NPs have prescriptive powers. There are answers such as, "Have the physician prescribe . . . . " Some of the material addressing thyroid disease seems a bit out of keeping with current guidelines and the Peds section does not seem to follow current CDC guidelines for immunizations. I think they have a good thing going here, but they need to update the material periodically.
Great test review April 3, 2009 Maria (Minneapolis MN) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I took my ANCC exam Feb 2009 and passed with flying colors and this book really helped. I used the CD several times, perhaps once daily 2 weeks before the test and it was extremely helpful. The CD generates a different test every time from the same bank of questions. Some questions were very similar as those as the ones in the exam. Another excellent sources were Margaret Fitzgerald and Maria Leik, I found these textbooks very helpful while preparing for the exam.If you use these books you should not have a problem. I also used the ANCC review guide it was good but $$. Good luck.
